My parents (z"l) tried to spell things they didn't want me to know. Alas, I had learned some words and their spelling from Desi and Lucy! One conversation my parents had involved someone "L-O-S-I-N-G their "J-O-B" to which I, at about Lionel's age, asked "Who lost their job and why?" What's the saying about "little pitchers"!?

I can relate. One time, while I was driving and my youngest was in her car seat, I was getting frustrated with traffic and blurted out “shit”. She asked me “Mommy, did you just say shit?” “No, honey, I said shoot.” 😄
