The cartoon is of course great. And the story made me laugh until my tummy hurt. As far as Im concerned youre a wonderful dad. Doubly so because you know when youve been beat! 🖖🏼✌🏽
I am, gasp I know, not a Star Wars or Star Trek fan. Attribute it to age. I am also not a parent. AND I laughed at both the conversation in the cartoon and at your telling your story. It was a memory to hold forever, you know, right?
I think one of the greatest lessons having children teaches us is that the saying “the best laid plans of mice & men often go awry” goes double for parents. And ofc that kids are the worst lol
Hilarious anecdotes like this one makes me wish I subscribed to your Substack earlier. I've been following Candorville for almost 7 years on GoComics, but when new strips stopped being updated there, I read them on your site before discovering the newsletter.
you have HOW many children? how do you ever get ANY of your brilliant work creations done?
wow, you impress me more every day, and that is saying a lot, for you've impressed me from day one way back when, when i first read your comics in LA Times...
oh yeah, and i reiterate, you are a certifiable geek, love it!!!
😂😆😂 i don't think i will cease laughing about this strip AND the hilarious story beneath it ALL DAY LONG!!! (see below for my confessions re Star Trek & Star Wars)
thank you, Darrin, for enabling me to start my day w/HUGE belly laugh (it's 6:40 a.m. here in Hamburg, i've been in bed ill most of the week)
i frimly believe that EVERY day should contain at least one belly laugh, the eralier & heartier, the better! (and a good cry doesn't hurt either)
Do NOT, for the love of all that is mostly kind - of - semi - sort of holy, show him much of the 3rd season ( " Turnabout Intruder " ). Talk about going out on a LOW NOTE ! You might as well show him old Lost in Space reruns. I realize that this isn't exactly an objective opinion.
