I’ve written about my extensive plan to force my son Emyree Zazu to fall in love with Star Trek. I’ve written about the time an A.I. agreed with me that Star Trek was
superior to Star Wars. I’ve also written about how my son has zero patience for Trek. Watching Picard speechify about Data being sentient in a courtroom, and long conversations about linguistics, apparently don’t appeal to today’s nine-year-olds.
But to a fourteen-year-old in 1989, this stuff was catnip.
I’ll try again in five years. If my son’s not all over this, something will have gone terribly wrong.
Why do we reply at all to each other?
Oh, and PS: Friday is Star Trek Day!!! 🩷🖖🩷
I love Lemont’s observations on language--what a fun strip today! The third panel was particularly markable.
